Bo-ra (Korean: 보라) is a Korean feminine given name. Unlike most Korean given names, it is a recent coinage from a native Korean word, meaning "purple", and therefore does not have corresponding hanja.[1][2] Other similar coinages include A-reum, Ha-neul, So-ra, and Yi-seul. However, since Korean given names can be created arbitrarily, it may also be a name with hanja (e.g. 寶羅 or 補羅).[3]
