Benjamin Loeb

Benjamin Loeb (born 12 November 1987 Nairobi ) is a Norwegian cinematographer .

Life

He was born in Kenya and raised in Nesbru, Norway.[1][2] He graduated with a degree in film from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver.[3][2] He has been active in American and Canadian independent cinema since the mid-2010s. [1][2]

He became known for directing the "saturated, 1980s B-movie-inspired" cinematography of the independent horror film Mandy (2018), starring Nicolas Cage, for which he received an Independent Spirit Award nomination.[1][2] In 2019, he was included by industry magazine Variety in its annual list of "ten emerging cinematographers to watch".
