Awan is a village in Bhulath Tehsil in Kapurthala district of Punjab State, India. It is located 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) from Bhulath, 35 kilometres (22 mi) away from district headquarter Kapurthala. The village is administrated by a Sarpanch, who is an elected representative.

The literacy rate of Awan is 70.55%, lower than the state average of 75.84%. The population of children in the age group 0–6 years is 131 which is 11.46% of the total population. The child sex ratio is approximately 1056, higher than the state average of 846.[1]
