Asomvel (stylised as ASOMVEL) is an English heavy metal band formed in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, in 1993 [1]. Known for a high-octane, Motörhead-inspired sound, they are a staple of the British underground metal scene [2].
History
[edit]Founded by guitarist Lenny Robinson and vocalist/bassist Jay-Jay Winter, the band released their debut album, Kamikaze, in 2009 [1]. Following Winter's death in 2010, the band continued in his honor, with Ralph Robinson later taking over vocals and bass [1]. The group subsequently released albums such as Knuckle Duster (2013), World Shaker (2019), and Born to Rock 'n' Roll (2024), touring internationally and appearing at festivals like Bloodstock Open Air [2],.
Latest album, "Set Your World on Fire", released October 1st, 2026.
Many compare them to Motörhead.
