Career
[edit]Alex Prus refereed the opening season of Major League Soccer in 1998. He refereed the MLS Cup final in 2007, and whistled US Open Cup finals in 2005, 2007, and 2009. [1] He was named the MLS Referee of the Year in 2009.[2]
Prus became a FIFA referee in 2004 and held the badge until 2009. He continued to referee MLS matches through 2011. [3] He was inducted into the NISOA Hall of Fame for his contributions to college soccer. [4]
After retirement Prus became a national referee coach for US Soccer and the director of PRO2 referees for the Professional Referee Organization. [5]
