You are currently viewing the requests for decrease in protection level subpage of Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. Instructions To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). Reason: Like my last request, this is no longer needed as this was mostly used to prevent LTAs to moving the page to Grawp-like titles (e.g. H..A..G..G..E..R..?). This is how Grawp spells Hagrid's name in the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film from 2007. Because JarlaxleArtemis is an LTA that is no longer active, I recommend and suggest removing the protection or even a step further to removing the move protection of this page (extended confirmed would be okay for the Hagrid request). — SimpleObjects-9ei 🏖️/☀️/🥵 (see talk) 21:39, 27 July 2026 (UTC)

Canada

Reason: Canada is not super involved in the WP:CT/AP contentious topic, vandalism on the article has decreased over the past 3 years, so I feel it is worth trying a lower level of protection, such as semi-protection. MathMan4 (talk) 20:27, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

Okay, can someone then explain to me why Iran is semi-protected and not ECP? People are claiming it has low involvement in the Arab-Israeli contentious topic, and I feel that Canada has low involvement in the American politics contentious topic, so why is Canada ECP and Iran is not?
