Become an Articles for Creation reviewer

If you would like to review drafts through the Articles for Creation (AfC) process, check that you meet the requirements and click the Apply to become an AFC reviewer button below.

Administrators and New Page Reviewers do not need to apply, but must enable AFCH in their gadget preferences.

AfC submissions should only be reviewed by administrators, new page reviewers, and editors listed on this page. Only these editors can use the AfC helper script.

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • have a Wikipedia account at least 90 days old;
  • have at least 500 undeleted edits to articles (not 500 total edits);
  • have read and understood the AfC reviewing instructions;
  • demonstrate a good understanding of the policies and guidelines relevant to AfC reviewing, including notability guidelines and deletion policy;
  • be willing to respond to questions from draft authors about their reviews.

Helpful experience

The following experience is also helpful:

  • experience with CSD, AfD, PROD, anti-vandalism, or other deletion and article-review processes;
  • familiarity with common signs of LLM-generated text and with identifying hallucinated, non-existent, or misrepresented references.

Don't yet meet the requirements?

We recommend gaining relevant experience by creating and developing articles, participating in Articles for deletion, proposed deletion and speedy deletion, and becoming familiar with Wikipedia's notability and verifiability requirements.

You are also welcome to familiarise yourself with the AfC process by reading the reviewing instructions, browsing current drafts and previous reviews, and observing how experienced editors advise draft authors at the AfC Help desk.

Participants who have not carried out any reviews in more than 6 months, or have not edited at all in the last two months, are considered inactive and may be moved to the inactive reviewers list.

Active reviewers

Please add usernames in alphabetical order. Please note that administrators and New Page Reviewers do not need to add their name to the list in order to review drafts. If you were formerly on this list and are having trouble using AFCH, please either purge your cache or check your common.js file as one of these are likely the cause of the problem.

Probationary members

Probationary reviewers can be removed from the list for any reason without prior discussion, but are otherwise no different from non-probationary reviewers.

Inactive reviewers

Users who have not reviewed a draft for more than six months will be moved from the "Active" list above to the linked list of inactive reviewers. Users on that list are welcome to request restoration to active membership on the talk page.

There are also {{AFC status}} and {{AfC Defcon}} which will keep you informed about the number of pending submissions. If you are the quiet type, you can just add the category manually.
