Oluwatomi Somefun is a Nigerian banker and business executive who served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Unity Bank plc from August 2015 to March 2025.[1][2]
Education
[edit]Somefun obtained a Bachelor of Education degree in English from Obafemi Awolowo University (then the University of Ife). She subsequently attended executive education programmes at Harvard Business School and Columbia Business School.[3]
Career
[edit]Somefun began her professional career with Peat Marwick and Co. before joining Arthur Andersen, now part of KPMG. She later joined Unity Bank Plc, where she served in several executive positions before being appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in August 2015.[2][4]
During her tenure as Managing Director, she oversaw the bank's strategic transformation, including initiatives in retail banking, digital financial services, agricultural financing and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.[2]
In March 2025, she completed her tenure as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Unity Bank Plc after serving for nearly ten years.[5]
