A tributary of the Zapotal, it flows for 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) through the municipalities of San Isidro, Cabañas, Sensuntepeque, San Sebastián, San Esteban Catarina and Santa Clara, spanning the Cabañas and San Vicente departments.
