Currently, if I'm on a Module testcases subpage, the editnotice still gives me the option to create a testcases subpage for that page, i.e. "Module:Roman/testcases/testcases", which is invalid. Please update the "Some helpful links" part to:

Some helpful links: [[mw:Extension:Scribunto/Lua reference manual|Lua reference manual]]{{#ifeq: {{lc: {{SUBPAGENAME}} }} | testcases
  | |, {{#ifexist:{{FULLPAGENAME}}/testcases|[[{{FULLPAGENAME}}/testcases|testcases]] <small style="font-style: normal">([{{fullurl:{{FULLPAGENAME}}/testcases|action=edit}} edit])</small>.|testcases <small style="font-style: normal">([{{fullurl:{{FULLPAGENAME}}/testcases|action=edit&preload=Template:Documentation/preload-module-testcases}} create])</small>.}}}}

So that if the SUBPAGENAME is "testcases", the option to create another testcases subpage will be correctly not given. Thanks

Template-protected edit request on 2 October 2016

[edit]

I request that the page be created without any changes to the prepared text. -Prahlad balaji (talk) 01:02, 2 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

We can copy the code from Template:Editnotices/Namespace/Module to this sandbox page, if that's what you're requesting. The page matches the blacklist entry Template:Editnotices\/.* <noedit|errmsg=titleblacklist-custom-editnotice>, which means that even if this page is created, you yourself are still unable to edit the page. All this sandbox page would do is allow a venue for template editors (not all users) to make changes and request edits to the fully-protected Module namespace notice. — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 04:16, 2 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Andy M. Wang and Prahlad balaji: Seems to me like you want to have sandbox and testcases subpages of editnotice templates pages exempted from the titleblacklist. I don't know what kind of regex needs to be added to MediaWiki:Titleblacklist or MediaWiki:Titlewhitelist to make that happen though - maybe a question for the talk page? @Jo-Jo Eumerus: Hadn't thought of whitelisting, but not sure if that's a good idea without more visibility. I think it would allow users to create pseudointerface messages for legitimate sandbox subpages ("Template:Editnotices/(Page|Protection)/.*/(sandbox|testcases)". (I copied over the Module notice in the meantime) — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 15:30, 2 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Oh. Seems like we need a way to distinguish between sandboxes/testcases of edit notices and edit notices for sandboxes/testcases. Or just use talkspace for sandboxing/testcasing. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 15:38, 2 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sync the sandbox of this template and Template:Editnotices/Namespace/Module talk.

It's now possible for there to be wikitext pages in Module namespace (see Module:Convert/documentation/conversion data for an example. Therefore, the variety of messages that tell you "this is module" should not show for said pages. {{3x|p}}ery (talk) 21:35, 28 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
