Template:Cite OEIS
Sloane, N. J. A. (ed.). "OEIS (home page)". The On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences. OEIS Foundation.
 | This template is a Citation Style 1 wrapper template based on {{Cite web}}. For centralised Citation Style 1 discussions, see Help talk:Citation Style 1. |
 | This template uses Lua: |
This template creates a reference to the On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences (OEIS). Parameter |1= is the identifying A-number, |2= (optional) is the name of the sequence:
- {{Cite OEIS|A100000|Ishango bone}} →
- Sloane, N. J. A. (ed.). "Sequence A100000 (Ishango bone)". The On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences. OEIS Foundation.
By default, this template generates a ref anchor which can be addressed using {{sfn|Sloane "sequence number"}} etc.
Before April 2018, this template was named {{SloanesRef}}.
Usage
The template requires the sequence number and optionally a name.
{{Cite OEIS|A100000}}→
- Sloane, N. J. A. (ed.). "Sequence A100000". The On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences. OEIS Foundation.
{{Cite OEIS|A100000|Ishango bone}}→
- Sloane, N. J. A. (ed.). "Sequence A100000 (Ishango bone)". The On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences. OEIS Foundation.
When in doubt, or the template does not show as expected: add |1, 2= (required when the input contains an "=" sign):
- {{Cite OEIS|1=A100000|2=Ishango bone}} →
- Sloane, N. J. A. (ed.). "Sequence A100000 (Ishango bone)". The On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences. OEIS Foundation.
- ... or use the parameter names
|sequencenumber=,|name=:
- {{Cite OEIS|sequencenumber=A100000|name=Ishango bone}} →
- Sloane, N. J. A. (ed.). "Sequence A100000 (Ishango bone)". The On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences. OEIS Foundation.
Other parameters
|formalname=--|name=might be shortened for convenience.|formalname=can then hold the longer, formal OEIS name for future use.|accessdate=
- To overwrite "Sloane, N. J. A. (ed.).":
|editor-link=|editor-first=|editor-last=(this also changes the default ref anchor accordingly:{{sfn|editor-last "sequence number"}})|quote=to quote a specific passage from the OEIS.|ref=specifies an explicit ref anchor. Do not usecite web's default value ofharv.|mode=specifies the generated citation format. Default iscs1, specifycs2forcitation-style.
OEIS subpages
The OEIS site can have several subpages with a sequence page. These can be linked using |subpage=. Options:
