There is still an ongoing disagreement about how the itsekiri people article should be improved after a large rewrite on the article.

My view is that large rewrite of that scale wasn’t necessary because many parts of the earlier versions were already supported by good sources. Where there were problems, I believe they could have been fixed by rewording, better citations, adding tags like [failed verification] or [citation needed], or removing only the unsupported claims not by rewriting large parts of the article.

After checking the sources and earlier versions myself, I prepared a draft at User:Agents47/Itsekiri people. This draft is not meant to bring back the old version. I reworded and corrected material, removed things I could not verify, and added new information where I found reliable sources.

The other editor believes the earlier versions had many unsupported claims and that the large rewrite was needed.

I would like comments from other editors on the best way forward:

• Should the draft at User:Agents47/Itsekiri people be used as the starting point for further work?
• Or should the current version of the article stay, while changes are discussed one section at a time?
