Template:Non-free film poster
- to provide critical commentary on the film in question or of the film poster itself, not solely for illustration
- where no free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information,
- on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,
- Please add a detailed non-free use rationale for each article the image is used in, which must also declare compliance with the other parts of the non-free content criteria, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
- For example non-free use rationales, see Wikipedia:Use rationale examples.
- This tag should only be used for film posters. Do not use it for other purposes.
- Try using Template:Non-free use rationale poster to state the rationale.
- If this is not a film poster, replace it with Template:Non-free poster.
|image has rationale=yes as a parameter to the license template.| This template is used on approximately 105,000 pages. To avoid major disruption and server load, any changes should be tested in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. The tested changes can be added to this page in a single edit. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them. |
This template should be placed in the Licensing section of non-free film posters to identify them as such. Note: Posters with US copyrights before 1964 are mostly in the public domain due to failure to formally renew the copyright on the poster. In this case the template {{PD-art|PD-US-not renewed}} should be used instead of this template. See Copyright renewal. For more information see Template:Non-free poster.
Usage
Simply insert this template into the Licensing section of an image description page. If a non-free use rationale is provided on the image description page, image_has_rationale should be set to yes, and the message at the bottom of the template requesting that the uploader provide a fair use rationale will be removed. Note: A non-free use rationale is required to comply with fair use guidelines, and a non-free file lacking one may be deleted after being tagged for seven days under speedy deletion criterion F6.
