The Federalist doesn't really align with "Conservatism." See this recent article advocating for less governmental restraint or this article advocating for a soft position on Russia as one of many examples. They also routinely publish content much closer to "far-right" than "conservative" and have been criticized by conservative outlets like The Dispatch. Would "right-wing" be a more appropriate label? I've made the change for now. Feel free to revert and let me know if there's a reason "conservative" is considered more appropriate. Be-Plants (talk) 19:37, 31 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
"Conservative" is what is sourced. Your explanation for changing the label to "far right" seems to be based on WP:OR (your reading of specific articles they have published). There may be sources that call them "right-wing". Do you have some? Since we already have some sources calling them "conservative", we could then add something like "the website has been described as conservative, right-wing, whatever else, etc..." For the record, I changed it to "right-wing," not "far-right." But you're right, that probably was too close to OR. While there are reliable sources which refer to it as right-wing (which personally, I think is far more accurate and "conservative" is often misused), the bulk of sources indeed lable it conservative, so I'll agree with your take. Thanks for weighing in. Be-Plants (talk) 22:36, 20 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
