Sandaki, also known as Sandiki or Santigi, was the Mansa of the Mali Empire from 1388 to 1389.[1][2] According to Ibn Khaldun Sandaki was not his name but rather his title, the Mandinka word for 'vizier'.[3] His real name is unknown.
Rule
[edit]Sandaki was a member of the imperial council and married to the mother of Mansa Musa II.[1] When Mansa Musa II died in 1387, the throne went to his brother Maghan II, but he was killed about a year later.[1] Sandaki took power for himself, but was soon killed by Mahmud, a descendant of Sundiata based in the pagan south.[3]
