Amaravati Quantum Valley is a planned quantum technology park and hub dedicated for innovations and researches in the field of quantum computing and technologies in India. It is located in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, India.[1] It is planned that the quantum technology hub will attract huge investments of worth 1 billion USD dollar. It is alignment with the goals of the National Quantum Mission to increase productivity and create wealth through the advanced technologies going to be developed from the Amaravati Quantum Valley.[2] The foreign company IBM and the Indian company Tata Consultancy Services have planned to establish India’s largest quantum computer at the tech park of the Amaravati Quantum Valley, featuring a 156-qubit IBM Heron processor.[3] The planned Amaravati Quantum Valley is seen as a historic opportunity for the state of Andhra Pradesh to become a global hub for the future advanced quantum technologies.[4] It is also considered as the first dedicated "Quantum Valley" tech park in the region of Southern asia.[5]

History

In the March month of 2025, the Government of Andhra Pradesh planned to establish Quantum Valley in the capital city Amaravati as part of National Quantum Mission in India.[6] On 4 May 2025, the government signed MoU with IBM, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for establishing most powerful quantum computer of the country at the planned Amaravati Quantum Valley in state of Andhra Pradesh. In the MoU Signing Ceremony, the chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the 156-qubit Quantum System Two would be installed at the Amaravati Quantum Valley by IBM.[7]

Planning

The Government of Andhra Pradesh is looking the project of the proposed Amaravati Quantum Valley as to add a new dimension to the Amaravati’s emerging knowledge ecosystem.[8] The government is aiming to establish Amaravati as a quantum computing hub in the same line as was Hyderabad established as the IT hub. The government's minister P. Narayana has said,

“Just as Hyderabad has become an IT hub, Amaravati is going to become a quantum computing hub,”

On 25 August 2026, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the municipal administration and urban development department of Andhra Pradesh and the UK government covering infrastructure development, urban planning, technology transfer and urban mobility to steps up quantum push of the Amaravati Quantum Valley.[9]

Constructions

The construction of the proposed quantum valley has been started recently. At the selected location, a quantum computing building is being constructed. On 25 August 2026, the work in progress of the construction site was inspected by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana of the Andhra Pradesh state in India.[8]

According to the minister, the quantum computing services of the quantum valley is expected to be operational from January of 2027. The quantum computing facility is being developed using German technology.[8]

Quantum Valley Tech Park

A Quantum Valley Tech Park is being built around the specialized quantum computing facility to accommodate related companies. Currently two towers are under construction.[10]
