conflict with <score> tags' audio players?
[edit]Use of the template anywhere on a page seems to result in breaking the audio players of <score> tags?
Example:
Assuming this talk page currently still has at least 1 usage instance of the Listen template, I'm getting a non-functional audio player for the <score> above that (when clicked to play) seems to try to play a null file (instead of the <score>'s content) and fails, and also simultaneously seems to put the page into a weird state that requires a browser page refresh to get out of.
I'm not sure if this is a bug with the template vs a bug in the implementation of <score>'s audio player feature. 50.47.241.61 (talk) 12:57, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
- Ok, further testing shows that it looks like the page having any file wikilink that invokes the audio player will repro this issue, so it's not specific to the template. It's looking more like a bug with <score>'s implementation. 50.47.241.61 (talk) 17:35, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

The text "Accordion chords" in the sample listed in the Embedding section are a violation of MOS:SMALL. Noticed the same issue in the infobox embed on David Souter. Can this be adjusted? QuietHere (talk | contributions) 14:31, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

Play inline or in a popover?
[edit]I cannot figure out why the player in some cases plays music inline, and in others in a popover? Even in the template examples, “Accordion chords” plays inline and “One small step for a man” plays in a popover. Coming to ask this after visiting Major-General's Song#Lyrics, on which the embedded audio plays in a popover, making it impossible to follow along with the lyrics. ~ nicolas (talk) 07:39, 9 September 2026 (UTC)
- I'm no expert, and I haven't seen this documented, but from observations I concluded that all videos are shown in popups, and audios if they have subtitles. I agree that the modal nature of the popups is annoying. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:28, 9 September 2026 (UTC)
