Artist

[edit]

The picture is attributed to Gerald Palmer and was obtained from a 1914 book. There have been several artists of this name, but the most likely seems to be Gerald Palmer (1886–1961). Artist Biographies says

PALMER Gerald 1886-1961. Illustrator born in Ferryhill, Co. Durham the son of a mining engineer. His art education is not known but he was active as a painter in Britain from c.1908 onwards.

This attribution is supported by the date, by him being the son of a mining engineer, and by him being listed as an illustrator. If this is accurate then the image will not be in the public domain until 2032, 70 years after his death. Verbcatcher (talk) 00:09, 17 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
