Al-Aflaj[a] is a governorate in Riyadh Province, Saudi Arabia. Its seat is the city of Layla, named after Layla al-Amiriyah, lover of the renowned poet Qays ibn al-Mulawwah. The governorate is the home of Qays and Layla and is associated with their love story that inspired the famous Arabic romance of Layla and Majnun.[1]
