History

[edit]

Zycus was founded in 2001 by Aatish Dedhia, who had previously worked at Intel.[citation needed] The company initially developed spend-analysis software and automated procurement-data classification tools, before expanding into a broader suite of procurement automation products.[1] It introduced a procure-to-pay platform in 2012.[1]

In 2018, Zycus developed Merlin, an artificial intelligence platform for procurement.[citation needed] In 2023, it added a conversational intake capability, Merlin Intake, that integrates with Microsoft Teams and lets business users submit procurement requests in natural language.[2][3]
