Toy Gun Bandit (French: Faux gun bandit) is a Canadian crime action film, directed by Rémi St-Michel and slated for release in 2026.[1] The film follows a young man in the suburbs of Quebec City who spirals into a life of crime.[2]
The cast comprises primarily first-time actors, including Félix Munger, David Beaudoin, Brandon Truong, Chau-Phi Van Quirion, Jenny Mark Turmel Pichette, Mathieu Bourret, Josée Tremblay and Marc-Antoine Munger, as well as established performers Sara Montpetit and Lou Thompson in supporting roles.[2]
The film was shot in spring 2025, in Quebec City, Beauport and Lévis.[2] It is St-Michel's second feature film overall, following Before We Explode (Avant qu'on explose) in 2019, but the first for which he was both the director and the screenwriter.[2]
The film is scheduled to premiere in the Centrepiece program at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.[3]
