Template:R to subtopic is indefinitely protected from editing as it is a heavily used or highly visible template. Substantial changes should first be proposed and discussed here on this page. If the proposal is uncontroversial or has been discussed and is supported by consensus, editors may use {{edit extended-protected}} to notify an administrator, template editor or extended-confirmed editor to make the requested edit. Usually, any contributor may edit the template's documentation to add usage notes or categories.

Thank you, Rod57, for asking! Noted in the documentation is that a redirect like this may have possibilities to become an article; however, not all of theses redirects are notable enough subjects (yet?) to become articles. Those that might become notable enough at some point can be tagged with {{R with possibilities}} in addition to this rcat. Be prosperous! Paine 02:54, 13 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Oh my, just noticed this question here, 8 years later. We were just discussing this at Redirects for discussion. I just enhanced this template in an effort to make it more self-explanatory.
