Template:New section link/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage

[edit]

This template is used to create a link which, when followed, will start a new section/topic on the specified discussion page. This can be useful when suggesting to a new user that they start a new discussion topic on a particular talk page.

This is done by creating a wikilink to Special:NewSection/Page name (documented here). If no discussion page is specified, following the link will start a new discussion on the current page.

This template may be transcluded or substituted. It is not meant for mainspace articles.

{{New section link|WT:Sandbox|label}} is equivalent to [[Special:NewSection/WT:Sandbox|label]]:
