Template:LDS Temple/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Summary

[edit]

Each temple has a data page that stores the data to be used in the templates, of the form: Template:LDS Temple/Temple name. All the templates that format temple data use a single set of data for each temple. Thus updating the data for each temple will only need to be done in one location.

Using the data in multiple locations is accomplished by transcluding the datapage along with a format parameter, which indicates which template to use. Thus the calls to transclude temple data will be a call of the form {{LDS Temple/Temple name | format= format template }}.

Usage

Notes

[edit]
  1. Are wikilinks allowed on the data page. Abbreviations:
no - wikilinks must not be used - use will interfere with formatting
yes - wikilinks should be used
optional - wikilinks can be optionally included on data page
  2. Templates in which the parameter is used
  3. Fair use images should not be used on the data page since that would hurt any temple related pages that have featured status.
  4. All levels should be wikilinked 1) city, town, or local area; 2) state or political subdivision; 3) country
  5. Formatting on data page will allow flexibility in abbreviations, etc.
  6. 1 2 3 Wikilink in dataset so display text can differ from article title
  7. If article exists wikilink on data page
  8. 1 2 3 Value will be automagically converted to metric by templates
  9. link to Wikipedia article if exist, or provide link to https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/locations/visitors-centers?lang=eng if no article
