time period ambiguity.

the phrase "the turn of the 19th century" is ambiguous. it could mean close 1800 or close to 1900 as both time periods are "turns" of the 19th century. further investigation into whether this phrasing denotes the beginning or the end of the named century reveals, that it is stylistically agreed that it is ambiguous. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turn_of_the_century . the article should be edit to make clear when the yankee traders were active. ~2025-35228-53 (talk) 21:48, 20 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
