This 2007 listing has quite a few issues:

• GA criterion 1b):
  • Numerous subsections are very short, which breaches MOS:OVERSECTION;
  • The lead, which currently stands at 758 words, may be too long per MOS:LEADLENGTH;
• It contains uncited material, meaning it does not meet GA criterion 2b);
• It has numerous tags for NPOV issues, meaning GA criterion 4 may not be met;
• And at over 10,500 words, not counting quotes, tables, captions, or lists, this article might contain excessive detail and not meet GA criterion 3b). ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 01:13, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

  Thank you. I would find it better to keep on the active talk page topics which are still being discussed. It seems to me that we have a hyperactive archiving bot patrolling the talk page.

Weird wording of run-on sentence

"There are four different locations, along the southern, eastern, and western wall, with gates known successively or simultaneously as the Gate of the Prophet and al-Buraq and associated by the Moslem authorities with Muhammad's night journey, which shows how extremely insecure they felt about the attribution of the al-Buraq tradition and name to a specific site."

This feels quite wordy as just one sentence, and I feel it can be broken up or worded different. I also believe that "Moslem Authorities" and "shows how extremely insecure" show bias. Moslem authorities sounds vague, and if this can be a specific religious leader or group, that would be nice. The use of extremely insecure also makes no sense here, and I feel different wording is needed. Hamoodwiki (talk) 07:21, 14 August 2024 (UTC)

This is the wall of the roman fortress Antonia. You are calling Christ a liar when he prophesied the destruction of the temple and it's walls. Rome utterly subjugated the glory of Jerusalem, they would not have left a single wall standing. What was left was their own camp, under which, no spring water can be found ( gihon ). And... cutting all trees ten miles around it? Even with modern chopping tools that is hard to do. It's just a tall story. That would mean about 813 square kilometers. 81326 hectares.

According to https://www.quora.com/How-long-would-it-take-to-clear-an-acre-of-old-growth-forest-by-hand , it takes more than one year for a guy to chop an acre of forest. And there were 200 thousand acres. Let's say that only 30 thousand acres were forest. That would mean more than one year of chopping for 30 thousand soldiers. Great Course: nothing about it

• No article, which is probably justified, but is it? The Western Stone, part of it, does have one. And not even a section one can link to!
• No details:
  • Is it built on bedrock, in part at least (the N end)?
  • If not: how come the "Great" Course was up in the air? Or was it at street level in Herod's time, which made it the best visible course?
  • How many courses between it and the bedrock? Altogether, and specifically at Western Stone and Western Wall plaza.
  • Length, height, presumed depth. Anything special about stone quality, finish, etc., or is it just about size?

Madain Project is not RS, but is often correct. Here it places the "great course" in the Southern Wall. Maybe Herod did indeed have a "great course" on all the 3 sides he expanded, so N, W and S? Maybe not on the N side, where bedrock was higher, plus Antonia etc. Arminden (talk) 13:42, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

The sentence "the term "Wailing Wall" has historically been used mainly by Christians, with use by Jews becoming marginal" seems out-of-place; in the Spanish-speaking jewish community, at least, the term "Western wall" is barely used, while "Wailing Wall" is the universally recognized name ("Muro de los Lamentos"/"Muro de Las Lamentaciones"). I even believe this applies to both the prayer-area section, and to the full extended wall, though take this with a grain of salt.

I believe the assertion should either be eliminated, or readapted with additional sources. LuciusWrath (talk) 00:53, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
