image placement
[edit]Currently all but one image in this article is in an (untitled) gallery. The WP:GALLERY policy seems to discourage such galleries, instead recommending images placed individually near the relevant text, or at least giving the gallery of images a more descriptive title. How can we fix this? --DavidCary (talk) 21:20, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
Tagging external spam links IAW WP:CITESPAM
[edit]I've tagged several citations that reference topics that are posts on sites primarily selling a product. Some of the citations simply link directly to the web store's product listing. The latter are not a reference or citation, but a promotional link or advertisement.
These links serve as an advertisement under Spam - External link spamming; Citation spam in my opinion. Even if the link is to an "article," the appearance of an immediate store popup offering discount, sale item, or subscription to "product news" constitutes promotional spamming of the commercial site. In some cases, these stores appear multiple times in the article, or in other articles. (I'll leave it to other editors to track down other articles where the store's link has been spammed.)
"The template categorizes tagged articles into Category:Wikipedia spam cleanup for cleanup." Template: Spam link. Please do not remove the tags, but discuss on the "spam cleanup for cleanup" topic. -- David Spalding (☎ ✉ ✍) 22:22, 22 August 2026 (UTC)
