Full name
[edit]Why is this page located at his full name? He went by W. H. Donaldson, and the literature refers to him variously at Washington H. Donaldson or Washington Donaldson, not as Washington Harrison Donaldson. Viriditas (talk) 21:52, 23 June 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for the laughs. I had no idea this article was copy and pasted from a work written in 1900. It’s extremely entertaining to read as this style of English is no longer in use. Which raises the question, should it be rewritten? Viriditas (talk) 11:41, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
- It should be rewritten if it's from a non-copyright source (thouhg I doubt the assertion, having checked the history - by all means cite your evidence) but as for the English, it's unexceptionable. I enjoyed reading the article. JohnHarris (talk) 16:57, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
- But that’s precisely my point. I don’t think we are supposed to use archaic language and framing no matter how much we enjoy it or find it entertaining. This discussion has come up several times before. Believe me, if we were allowed to do this I would be writing all my articles in this style. Viriditas (talk) 19:12, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
