Lists of GLOs

@Cmiofsky: lists of Greek institutions are better placed on list pages, since their content relevance for an encyclopedia is marginal. Also, there is not enough reliable documentation about them. Most Wikipedia editors agree that rote listings of Greek institutions are not helpful if there is no sourcing from outside the college's or university's homepage or the fraternity's own circle. If you can prove that one or more of the Greek houses is significant, then pls do so, but for the most part, individual houses fall under WP:UNDUE. That is, they are not significant enough for an encyclopdia. Here is an example of the lists, which are more appropriate. -- Melchior2006 (talk) 06:26, 29 March 2025 (UTC)

That seems to be a matter of opinion on what is and is not significant. I find it to be significant to have the information available. Cmiofsky (talk) 17:22, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

Your argument would be much more convincing if you provided independent, reliable sources supporting your assertion that this information should be included in this encyclopedia article. ElKevbo (talk) 22:27, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

College of Professional Studies name change

University of Denver's University College has changed its name. I changed it here. I incorrectly added the citation supporting this change twice and could not figure out how to remove the extra citation. ProfLSC (talk) 20:11, 22 September 2025 (UTC)

Introductory Sentence

The first paragraph introduces many elements unrelated to the founding of DU. Reference to John Evans losing his position as governor and the Sand Creek Massacre were not factors in the founding of the University so probably not be included in the first paragraph.

In March 1864, John Evans, former governor of the Colorado Territory, appointee of President Abraham Lincoln, founded the Colorado Seminary in the newly created (1858) city of Denver, which was then a mining camp. Evans, governor and superintendent of Indian affairs of the Colorado Territory, lost his government position as a result of the November 1864 Sand Creek massacre (which was carried out by Colonel John Chivington, later a member of the Colorado Seminary's Trustees). ~2025-31767-41 (talk) 00:36, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
