Back when I worked on The Maneater in the 1990s, there seemed to be a bit of confusion about the founder's name. At The Maneater's 40th anniversary, he made a crack about how every five years a Maneater reporter would call and ask for "Joe Gold"; as a professor at the University of Kansas, he identified himself as "Joel Gold".
There were a couple years after that when we printed his name as Joel Gold. However, I also remember a framed photo of the very first Maneater issue hanging in the office where his byline was printed as Joe Gold. Does anyone have any definitive information on this?

On the Controversies section: Is this notable? In its over 50-year history, The Maneater faced off with university administrators, the police, and state government. Why are we showcasing small potatoes? I mean, an MSA VP and pinkisthenewblog.com?
There should be a section of notable alumni in this article.
We should include images, including The Maneater nameplate.
