If I get my laptop back from the mender's before anyone gets to it I'll do it myself, but no, "Janis" [sic in IP edit summary] does not have a cameo appearance in Prince Caspian. This article is about the books, not the films, and in the book the necromancy spell is thwarted before Jadis returns. Christian themes in the series: lede

I have removed the word "subtly" in the lede, where it read "...Christian theology subtly interwoven..." In my opinion, the interweaving is hardly subtle. For instance, Aslan's reassurance to Lucy at the end of her final alive visit to Narnia (Dawn Treader?) that he is present in our world, just under a different name, seems hardly subtle. And the religious allegories in The Last Battle come fast and furious. However, this is arguably WP:OR by me, as well as by whoever put in the "subtly" word in the first place. Which leads me to: there must be considerable discussion in literary criticism of the works on this topic. Should we cite it instead? We do of course have a Christian Themes section further down, but it refers more to Lewis' avowed intent and the reaction of Christians. Martinp (talk) 21:37, 16 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Since nowhere does Aslan actually say, "By the way, kids, you'll probably know me better as Jesus Christ," the interweaving of Christian themes is quite subtle; particularly when you consider the text was written for children, who, lacking adult sophistication and exposure to different literary types, tend to accept things presented to them at face value.

I agree that "subtle," "explicit," and other such designations should be attributed and not put into Wikivoice. It's a fairly subjective analysis, so best to quote others on it and not tell the reader what to think. pillowcrow 23:41, 14 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
