Full name
[edit]The name of the game is "Snipperclips - Cut it out, Together!", so article should be moved to there. 67.253.250.154 (talk) 18:36, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- WP:COMMONNAME and WP:SUBTITLES say otherwise. When the majority of reliable sources start including the subtitle, then the page can be moved to the full title. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 09:48, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
- I disagree with your judgment there. Those rules are there for "the most common name people know it as," everybody knows the full name is Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together! They just call it Snipperclips because it's quicker than saying the full name.
- Like for an example, basically everyone calls United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE for short, but it'd be ridiculous to suggest that the article gets called the shorthand version since it's just a quick way of saying it. And more people would say Einstein than Albert Einstein since it's shorter, but you wouldn't call the article just Einstein since that's not his full name.
- That rule is there for things that don't have correct formal names like the most common term for a concept. Like how we have multiple words to refer to the same thing since it's not something that was properly named. But the official names of people or official titles of a product are obviously all called by their full official name and not the shorthand version that people use more because it's easier to say.
- Especially since a good chunk of the sources do say the full name somewhere, rarely in the article's title since they need it to be quick for clicks but a good chunk of them do. It's definitely not such an overwhelming amount of people saying exclusively "Snipperclips" for it to make more sense to not use the full title. For things like Bruno Mars where his name not actually being Bruno Mars is more of a fun fact than something people actually ever call him by, that makes sense, but everyone knows it's Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together! It says it on the box and every time you boot up the game. So that doesn't really apply here. FelixFarrugia (talk) 09:37, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
