Whoa - Not so fast! Please give me a chance to add content and context to the article. Thanks for your consideration.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Frank1ray (talk • contribs)
Notability
[edit]I don't think there's really any concern about Bemis' notability -- he's been mayor for a long time, Gresham is one of the larger cities in the state, there's been a great deal of local coverage of him. The article will however need some work to draw that notability out (and conform to WP's style standards). I'll chip away at it a little. -Pete (talk) 17:02, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Notablility
[edit]I added more external references about Bemis and some of his more significant initiatives as Mayor of Gresham, hopefully more firmly establishing noteworthiness. Frank1ray (talk) 01:21, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- With the addition of the "after his first year" profile from the Outlook, I think his notability is established. Aboutmovies, what do you think? Feel free to add the tag back if you think it's necessary. I also added the {{inline}} template, to reflect that this (and other) sources really should be incorporated into the article as inline citations, rather than generic external links.
- One other source I found: Bemis leading Gresham to win "Green Power Community" status. May want a 2ndary source though. -Pete (talk) 00:27, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

I am Shane Bemis, the subject of this article, so I am not editing it directly (see my disclosure at User:Cityfact). I am aware of the earlier undisclosed paid editing by OregonDuck22; this request is being made openly for independent review.
I have drafted a sourced expansion at User:Cityfact/sandbox. The current article is a stub; the draft covers my City Council and mayoral record (2003–2020), my U.S. Conference of Mayors roles, the 2020 resignation and later career. It cites more than 100 sources, including The Oregonian, OPB, KGW, KATU, Willamette Week, Oregon Business, C-SPAN and U.S. Conference of Mayors records.
Notes for the reviewer:
- Please keep the existing infobox photo; my draft leaves the image field blank.
- The infobox lists my current voter registration as unaffiliated. That is self-reported and has no published source, so please remove it if it doesn't meet the sourcing standard.
- Several Oregonian articles are paywalled; I can supply text from them on request.
I would welcome any editor replacing the current text with the draft, in whole or in part, and I'm happy to answer questions or provide sources. Thank you. Cityfact (talk) 21:20, 28 September 2026 (UTC)
