Porsche-engined. Verdict: Partially accurate / misleading in timing. The Ronda didn't launch with System Porsche engines. It was initially introduced with locally built engines from the 124 series or a larger twin cam 1.6, as well as a 1.7-litre diesel unit. Only after an Autumn 1984 facelift did the Ronda receive the "System Porsche" petrol engines developed for the Ibiza Wikipedia. Calling it a "System Porsche-engined" car at launch is misleading — those engines came later.
The Spanish Wikipedia adds several details absent from the English version: the SEAT Ritmo was named Spanish Car of the Year in 1980, and it was the first SEAT model to use a word rather than a number as its name Wikipedia. It also describes the sporty Crono variant with the Lampredi twin-cam 1,592 cc engine producing 95 CV (DIN), sourced from the Fiat 132 Wikipedia, and the diesel version with a 1,714 cc engine, as well as the Emelba van derivative and its use as a police car from 1981.
