Roofman (film) → Roofman – Currently it is likely that a majority of users who type "Roofman" are researching the film. Hatnotes atop the entries for Jeffrey Manchester and Roofman, each pointing to the other, should suffice. Strong Support It is a biopic about the criminal who the page currently redirects to, and I don't think that many people are looking up him without it being connected to the film. "Roofman" was also a nickname for the criminal by the media, but it is explicitly the title of the 2025 film. PickleG13 (talk) 19:09, 11 October 2025 (UTC)

The location.

While the location in the movie is Pineville, NC's currently-vacant Toys "R" Us, the actual location of the crime scene was the store at 6070 E. Independence Blvd, which shuttered around 2006 and has been a Vizion Church for many years, so, they weren't able to reuse that store. 2001:4454:7C4:3900:B18A:EC34:9EDC:F46 (talk) 07:01, 30 October 2025 (UTC)

Also, let's also try to add that former Charlotte police sergeant Katherine Scheimreif (who had helped to apprehend Jeffrey Manchester) played the red-haired woman who says she was formerly in law enforcement at the Red Lobster singles' lunch, several other law enforcement officers who had tracked down Manchester back in the day also played themselves, and Cianfrance cast actual ex-cons as the prisoners Tatum's character interacts with behind bars. ~2025-32865-45 (talk) 00:00, 16 November 2025 (UTC)

Lead sentence

Derek Cianfrance is an auteur filmmaker, his name should come first in the article, this is not a C-film focused on star power money profitability.

Following WP:LEADSENTENCE, i also think any further disruptive edit omitting screenwriting credits should not be done.

Yes, I made the edit based on these policies and guidelines:

• MOS:OPEN: "The first paragraph should define or identify the topic with a neutral point of view, but without being too specific. It should establish the context in which the topic is being considered by supplying the set of circumstances or facts that surround it."

• "The first sentence should tell the nonspecialist reader what or who the subject is, and often when or where."

• MOS:CONTEXTLINK: "The first sentence should provide links to the broader or more elementary topics that are important to the article's topic or place it into the context where it is notable."
• WP:UNDUE: "Undue weight can be given in several ways, including but not limited to the depth of detail, the quantity of text, prominence of placement, the juxtaposition of statements, and the use of imagery." (emphasis mine)

To clarify, this was my edit which is not just Tatum but the film's premise. It's not about being a fan of Tatum or Cianfrance but opening with the most recognizable introduction for the film, based on sourcing. Reliable sources headlining this topic name Tatum more than Cianfrance or Dunst (both who do get named on occasion but not as often). To share an example, site:variety.com intitle:roofman shows these results. Sometimes Tatum is headlined, but not Cianfrance.
