Lack of references

I came to this article from King of the Royal Mounted and saw there were only 3 references (formerly listed as Notes). I started researching and found a brief 1955 notice about the formation of Zane Grey, Inc., plus a couple of brief obituaries. I'll try to find some more verified information on Romer Zane Grey, and then decide if I have the heart to delete most of this article as being unreferenced. Rewriting article.

I am beginning to rewrite this article, deleting everything I can't find a reference for. I will do the work in phases, so that if anyone wants to revert something it will be easier to do so. Karenthewriter (talk) 04:35, 19 June 2022 (UTC)

I finished rewriting article, and deleted unreferenced portions. The changes were published in sections, in case of reversions. And I deleted the "weasel word" tag, which has been there since 2010, for I now believe this is currently written in a neutral tone. Karenthewriter (talk) 21:27, 19 June 2022 (UTC)

Birth date tagged Original Research

The source is primary, but appears legitimate. I believe it is OK per WP:PRIMARY "A primary source may be used on Wikipedia only to make straightforward, descriptive statements of facts that can be verified by any educated person with access to the primary source but without further, specialized knowledge."
