Plumbing remodeling needed

A common problem among older homes in North America is the lack of toilet and shower in the basement. Because construction styles have changed over time and communities have different zoning requirements, some newer sewer lines exit the house on the basement side wall instead of below the basement foundation. An ejector system is necessary for these, however this should not be necessary for a sewer line existing through the basement floor. Both however, require breaking up the concrete foundation. A section should be added here to discuss the types of plumbing renovation and architectural requirements.

Proposed merge of Renovation into Home improvement

I oppose the merge. I agree there are overlaps, but it seems to me this page includes both residential and non-residential buildings. If anything, I would merge the other way, as "home improvement" is one type of renovation. Adabhael^Talk 00:16, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

I agree with the two previous comments. These articles seem to be somewhat unclear and redundant now as to what they are about, and could benefit from being merged. I don't have very strong preferences about how it should be done, but perhaps "building renovation" or "renovation of buildings" could be an alternative. However, the term "renovation" could probably also be applied to any other form of thorough improvement of "broken, damaged, or outdated structures", like boats, planes, spacecraft, roads, tunnels, etc. Sauer202 (talk) 16:44, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

On second thought, I disagree, since renovation is just one part of home improvement. Renovation means to bring something back to its original condition. Home improvement can also include making changes or improvements. Sauer202 (talk) 17:18, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

2000 series on the Nine Network

This article describes Renovation Rescue as a 2004 series hosted by Rebecca Harris, Scott Cam and Peter Everett. There appears to have been an earlier series of the same name on the Nine Network in 2000. The article "List of Australian television ratings for 2000" lists "Nine Network – Renovation Rescue (2,323,000)" as the second highest rating program of week 42, 2000 — four years before the series described here. Declaring a conflict of interest: I am Suzie Wilks and I hosted the 2000 series.This Series!! I'm not asking for anything promotional, only that the earlier series be acknowledged. I understand my own testimony isn't a reliable source, which is why I'm raising it here rather than editing the article, in the hope an editor with access to 2000 television listings can verify it. ~2026-41494-38 (talk) 01:44, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
