External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Randall Kaplan. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
- Attempted to fix sourcing for http://www.thejusticeball.org/gallery.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}).

Conflict of interest
[edit]More than one contributor to this article appears to have a close personal or professional connection to the topic, and thus to have a conflict of interest. Conflict-of-interest editors are strongly discouraged from editing the article directly, but are always welcome to propose changes on the talk page (i.e., here). You can attract the attention of other editors by putting {{request edit}} (exactly so, with the curly parentheses) at the beginning of your request, or by clicking the link on the lowest yellow notice above. Requests that are not supported by independent reliable sources are unlikely to be accepted.
Please also note that our Terms of Use state that "you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation." An editor who contributes as part of his or her paid employment is required to disclose that fact. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:38, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
Request for factual updates
[edit]| This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. Set |answered=no to reactivate the request if necessary. |
Hello. I am Randall Kaplan, the subject of this article. I want to disclose that I have a conflict of interest, so I am requesting that independent Wikipedia editors review and make the following factual updates rather than editing the article myself.
1. JUMP Investors title
The article currently states:
“Kaplan is the managing partner of JUMP Investors, a Los Angeles-based venture capital and private equity firm.”
My current title is Founder and CEO of JUMP Investors.
Independent source:
Inspired Insider identifies Randall Kaplan as “the Founder and CEO of JUMP Investors”:
https://www.inspiredinsider.com/randall-kaplan-interview/
Requested change:
Please replace:
“Kaplan is the managing partner of JUMP Investors, a Los Angeles-based venture capital and private equity firm.”
with:
“Kaplan is the founder and CEO of JUMP Investors, a Los Angeles-based venture capital and private equity firm.”
2. Spouse field
The infobox currently lists:
“Spouse: Madison Kaplan”
That unqualified listing presents the relationship as current. A California divorce proceeding, Kaplan v. Kaplan, was filed in 2026.
Source:
https://trellis.law/case/26stfl05154/kaplan-randall-vs-kaplan-madison
Requested change:
Please remove the “Spouse: Madison Kaplan” field from the infobox.
I am not requesting that Wikipedia replace the field with “divorced” unless an editor determines that reliable sourcing establishes that legal status. My request is simply to remove an unqualified current spouse listing that is no longer accurate.
3. In Search of Excellence podcast The current Career section does not mention the podcast *In Search of Excellence*, which I host.
Requested change:
Please add the following neutral sentence to the Career section:
“Kaplan is the host of the podcast In Search of Excellence.”
I recognize that Wikipedia requires appropriate sourcing for additions to biographies of living persons. If the available sourcing for this particular addition is not sufficient under Wikipedia’s standards, I am happy for an editor to leave this item unchanged pending an acceptable independent source.
I am intentionally not requesting promotional language, Akamai market-cap claims, podcast rankings, trademark references, or other marketing-oriented material.
Thank you for reviewing these factual updates. Randallk1 (talk) 21:15, 14 August 2026 (UTC)
Partly done 1 and 2 were implemented; 3 was deferred pending an independent reliable source that can be used to source the claim. For 1, I used PitchBook rather than the provided source, which did not seem sufficiently independent; it says at the bottom "At Rise25, we’re committed to helping you connect with your Dream 100 referral partners, clients, and strategic partners through our done-for-you podcast solution." Typographical error: "Gilmelstob"
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
Hello. I am Randall Kaplan, the subject of this article, with a conflict of interest disclosed in my August 2026 request above. This is a minor typographical correction only: in the "Assault case against Gimelstob" section, the sentence beginning "Gilmelstob later pleaded..." misspells the surname as "Gilmelstob". It should read "Gimelstob", matching the section heading, the correct spelling in the preceding sentence, and the cited sources. No other change is requested. Thank you.
