Reason for removal of sourced contents
[edit]I want to know why my edit was removed. It is supported by a reliable source https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Rajput_architecture&diff=1036094535&oldid=1035209009122.176.209.193 (talk) 09:23, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
- Here I am after 4 years- it should've been removed a long ago. The source is clueless literally and definitely contradicts other source and basic facts; it should've been that Rajput architecture influenced the indigenous Mughal architecture. ~2026-41844-66 (talk) 04:08, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- As a non-extended confirmed editor, you are not allowed to participate in discussions on this page other than to make edit requests for making simple, noncontroversial changes. Any change that requires any discussion is a discussion that you cannot participate in, as this topic is under extended confirmed restrictions. - The Bushranger One ping only 04:20, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you @The Bushranger for the reply, can you state where can I make edit requests actually!
- Can you not apply those edits? ~2026-41844-66 (talk) 04:24, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- For the subject you wish to discuss, you cannot. - The Bushranger One ping only 04:24, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- I have asked for the edit requests; anyway the rule is unfair to non-entended confirmed editor 😑! ~2026-41844-66 (talk) 04:32, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
- @The Bushranger I suggest locking Sikh architecture too, because this ip user is coming with new ip and vandalising the article without clear explanation. Hu741f4 (talk) 02:20, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- It's WP:NOTVAND, but it is disruptive and is also adjacent to SASG. *-66, it being "unfair to non-extended confirmed editors" is, in a sense, the point; too many unregistered/new editors conduct caste-based edit wars so, by order of the Arbitration Committee, they are no longer allowed to edit on the subject of caste. - The Bushranger One ping only 02:27, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- @The Bushranger, First thing first, it's not a caste article-I mean Sikhism isn't a caste actually. Clearly this user is misleading and see their timing-this user simply want to construct his own edits; infact he has reverted already established edit b experienced editor on the topic. I am sure Caste thing doesn't apply there. Please revise your decision; This user simply want to state that everything was influenced by Mughal as it implied. He removed the already sourced content wherever it didn't suit his agenda. ~2026-43394-49 (talk) 07:49, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- WP:CT/SASG is "caste related topics" and is, more importantly, broadly construed. Sikhism may not be a caste but Rajupts are and you were arguing that Sikh architecture was influenced by Rajput architecture, which means the page was subject to caste-related disruption. Further arguments not directly related to simple, noncontroversial edit requests are violations of the extended confirmed restrictions; drop the stick and edit on other topics. Or create an account, edit legitimately to become extended confirmed, and then make a case for the edits you want to make on the article talk page(s). - The Bushranger One ping only 08:59, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- Nope@The Bushranger! I was not arguing this; the articl already had this see , What I did was to follow source and remove the repeating which happened two times also see the source too!
- And what I am saying is that the user is clearly tring very clearly to make his pov edit! Anyway I have more explained in the talk page of Sikh Architecture. ~2026-43394-49 (talk) 09:08, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- This edit by you was an edit regarding caste-related topics and was a violation of the extended confirmed restriction. This is your final warning: drop the stick or be blocked for disruptive editing. - The Bushranger One ping only 09:11, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- @The Bushranger , please be more patient to understand me; The article already mentioned this in the past before I made the edit (I actually removed double mentioning of the phrase, This section was before I made edit and I simply stated that how removing the sourced content one-sidedly can be misleading and non-neutral. . ~2026-43394-49 (talk) 09:20, 7 August 2026 (UTC)

For example, The source clearly mention that it has Hindu Rajput element as well as this but yu see th headline it now read, it was heavily influemced by Islamic Mughal architecture even though Sikh architecture definitely have Rajput elements as well. I can't understand without mentioning the word "Rajput" at all but this clearly isn't about caste itself..! — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-43394-49 (talk) 09:24, 7 August 2026 (UTC)

"Rajput architecture represents different types of buildings, which may broadly be classed either as religious or military. These include temples, forts, stepwells, gardens, and palaces. The forts were specially built for defense and military purposes. The Mughal and European architecture influenced indigenous Rajput styles of art and architecture." To
"Rajput architecture is an architectural style developed by Rajput ruling dynasties across Western and Northern India beginning in the 8th century CE. Renowned for its integration of formidable military fortifications with ornate courtly and religious structures, the style is best exemplified by monumental hill forts, palaces, temples, and stepwells." [1]
Reason: it's contradict even the basic fact and get wrong; infact is contradicted by other source itself- as I shown above! ~2026-41844-66 (talk) 04:30, 31 July 2026 (UTC)
Not done: Your proposed language is excessively promotional and reads like a travel brochure rather than an encyclopedia. Day Creature (talk) 18:33, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Day CreatureThis user has made similar edits on other articles too. You need to double check all the edits made by this ip. A clean up is required Hu741f4 (talk) 06:53, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Day Creature I would then propose this:

These include temples, forts, stepwells, gardens, and palaces. The forts were specially built for defense and military purposes. " ~2026-43394-49 (talk) 16:54, 6 August 2026 (UTC)

Regarding previous requests I simply didn't pay attention and simply stated the edit as was revised. However this remains the new edit and accurate representation with the source. ~2026-43394-49 (talk) 17:00, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
Not done: It's not clear why you want to remove the sentence about Mughal and European influence. Day Creature (talk) 04:36, 9 August 2026 (UTC)
- I want to add more line based on the other source and restore previous lead of the article; the influence is non-neutral especially given that Rajput architecture predates the Mughal and European by eigh and ten centuries respectively and its at very late that Mughal and Europen architecture enters India; By the way, its also vice versa,as many indigenous Hindu elements including Rajput architecture influenced Mughal architecture; so to say Mughal architecture influenced indigenous Rajput architecture is both misleading one-way and broadly inaccurate. ~2026-44049-98 (talk) 19:47, 9 August 2026 (UTC)
- Also you might want to see this as well:

- "As a former capital of the Sisodia clan and the target of three famous historical sieges, Chittorgarh is strongly associated with Rajput history and folk lore. Furthermore the sheer number and variety of architectural remains of early date (ranging from the 8th to the 16th centuries)." ~2026-44049-98 (talk) 19:51, 9 August 2026 (UTC)
- Also, in [|Dictionary of Islamic Architecture ]
- Page 199:
- It is difficult to determine the extent to which any feature or building type used by the Mughals derives from any of these particular sources, partly because earlier Indian Islamic architecture contains both Hindu and Islamic. elements. What is clear, however, is that Mughal architecture does incorporate many elements from local Hindu architecture, in particular the art of the Rajput palaces. Distinctive Hindu features incorporated into Mughal architecture include trabeate stone construction, richly orna-mented carved piers and columns, and shallow arches made out of corbels rather than voussoirs. ~2026-44241-57 (talk) 11:16, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
