[edit]It seems that two of these items are essentially identical. The listing of both Tobacco and Salvia seems redundant as the word quid does not refer to the individual plants but to the method of consumption. Anyone agree or disagree? --Rlsaine (talk) 02:04, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
No reference to a ball/wad of leaves meant to be placed in the mouth and sucked/chewed.
[edit]The main definition of quid I am familiar with is as a wad or ball of leaves that is placed in the mouth and sucked or chewed for psychedelic effect.
The context I recall this from was for oral use of the plant salvia divinorum. A quid of fresh leaves is placed in the mouth. Although, I have no doubt it is done with other plants. This is just the context I read about it in.
However, I don't see this definition in the list and the search term (quid) just redirects here. So, I wonder if there is even a Wiki page for this use of the word quid.
I think a page should be created if there is none. And if there is, it should definitely be added to this disambiguation page. VoidHalo (talk) 00:38, 2 July 2025 (UTC)
