Restructuring necessary?
[edit]Hi to everyone with an interest in this article. I am proposing to do a copy edit on it, as per the tag. In my opinion, the article could also benefit from some restructuring to help a reader with the overall flow of information. Before I start work on the copy edit, can I just check whether anyone would rather I didn't do this? Thanks. All the best with your own projects. Dropbear2 (talk) 02:51, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

[edit]I have replaced "pyx" with "pyxis" in the first lead sentence. Strictly speaking, a "pyxis" – uncapitalised to distinguish it from the constellation "Pyxis" – has a number of meanings, including a small box or casket which can be made from various materials, not necessarily ivory. A "pyx" is a specific kind of pyxis, i.e. a small box or casket in which the consecrated wafers or bread of the Eucharist are kept and transported, which the Pyxis of Zamora is not.
