Relationship with father
[edit]Under "Early Life", the article states she "lived mostly with her mother despite having a closer relationship with her father". Presumably that "father" was Yates, not Green, since she was an adult by the time she found out who her biological father was. The entire sentence is suspect, as noted by someone's request for a citation, but if anyone can clarify who is referenced it would improve the article's clarity. Meanwhile, I'm just going to change it. Ghost writer's cat (talk) 23:24, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
Horrible
[edit]Horribly written and all over the place. Needs clarity and order. 2601:87:C480:A190:F908:DF94:7AB8:F6A2 (talk) 01:29, 20 February 2025 (UTC)
Comments from coroner
[edit]While I recognize that these are direct quotes from the coroner and not necessarily part of the article’s description of the events, within the Death tab, I question the neutrality of including comments like “foolish and uncautious behavior” or “an unsophisticated taker of heroin.” I found a little distracting, personally. If we wanted to cover the public’s reaction to her death and show that there was controversy among the general populace, I could see a place for describing comments such as this, but within the context of it being the words of one insensitive man, I’m not sure it’s relevant or worth including. Nationality
[edit]With regard to the history of the article, for many years Paula Yates was described in the opening sentence of the lead section as "British" until an unexplained change by an editor in September 2024 to "Welsh". In August 2025 I restored this to "British" as it was the long-standing description of her nationality. In October 2025 her nationality was changed by another editor to "English". I have again reverted this today to "British" as per the long-standing description.
She was born in Wales to English parents and as far as I'm aware she lived the majority of her life in England and spoke with an English accent. I think "British" should stay, unless reliable sources emerge which state she strongly identified as being either English or Welsh rather than British.
