Potential LLM usage

[edit]

There is a lot of material that simply isn't verified by the source, that seems like the types of mistakes LLMs make.

He attended school in Fiji before pursuing medical studies overseas. Nand later migrated to New Zealand where he undertook advanced surgical training and established his career in cardiothoracic surgery

No mention of school at source and whilst it refers to him as a cardiothoracic surgeon active in New Zealand its quite a stretch from the source to 'migrated to New Zealand and undertook advanced trained and established a creer'.

Nand lived in Auckland, New Zealand. Outside medicine, he was involved in philanthropy and community initiatives supporting Pacific and Indo-Fijian communities

The source only states 'Other winners were cardiothoracic surgeon at MercyAscot, Parma Nand, who was named Mr Auckland.'

He was described by Deputy Prime Minister of Fiji Biman Prasad as “a giant amongst surgeons” whose work transformed the lives of many Fijian families.

The source confirms the quote (although its presented oddly and truncated from the full quote) but I do not see anything related to Prasad saying his work transformed the lives of many people.

Nand died on 2 May 2025 at the age of 63.

No mention of age in source and it gives a date of the 4th, not the 2nd.

Nand was a travelling specialist who gained training and recognition at international hospitals such as Freeman Hospital, Toronto General Hospital and Westmead Hospital

LLM style puffery such as 'recognition' and 'such as' listing three examples. The source only confirms he undertook specialist training there, not that he was recognised nor that there were others unmentioned.

Friends of Fiji Heart Foundation New Zealand

Made up title although this isn't necessarily a sign of LLM.

Throughout his medical career, Nand became known for his advocacy of improved cardiac care access for Pacific communities, particularly in Fiji. He regularly coordinated medical missions involving volunteer surgeons, nurses, perfusionists, and healthcare professionals from New Zealand and overseas

Source only confirms his work in Fiji specifically. Source does not state he coordinated it and the roles of the people involved are not mentioned nor is it mentioned where they are from.

Under his leadership, volunteer medical teams conducted annual open-heart surgery programmes at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital in Fiji. The programmes provided free surgeries and post-operative care for Fijian patients

Source says Colonial War Memorial Hospital. Traumnovelle (talk) 00:04, 19 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Monathabung, please comment on your use of large language models and if you deny using them, please explain the above. And have a read of WP:NOLLM. Schwede66 03:03, 24 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Traumnovelle, I see that Monathabung has edited since my above query. I've posted on their talk page that they better respond to this message because if they don't, then I'll nix this article. If I do, I'll copy the above to Monathabung's talk page as a record. Schwede66 05:58, 25 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
It would also be good to review the other contributions and see if the same source integrity issues exist. Traumnovelle (talk) 20:24, 25 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
