Odweyne is the one of the old cities in Somaliland history. It was district of togdheer region. In 2008, Somaliland President Dahir Riyala Kaahin appointed odweyne. Many intellegtual and high rank somaliland people are from Odweyne city including the late president of Somaliland "Mohamed haji Ibrahim Cigaal" who ones was the prime minister of Somali Republic. I moved the page from Odweyne because most sources prefer Oodweyne. This is true on UN Maps, BBC Translated reports from the town, major world atlases, etc.
