This article is incorrect - and potentially harmful
[edit]Firstly, the causes of ocular rosacea are NOT principally due to eye mites. The true cause, whilst still not fully known, is likely genetics and stress. (And that illustrative photo is garbage.) OR is an auto-immune, inflammatory chronic disease.
Secondly, the treatments recommended are absolute BS. Warm compresses - HOW OUTDATED. And certainly you cannot treat/cure this by swallowing tetracycline-based antibiotics*. Or any antibiotics.
There is no cure. Only prevention/management.
Thirdly, the only treatment is a preventative one. Clean your eyelids - upper and lower - twice a day and keep them clean/sanitized. Support your overall immune system through diet and/or supplements.
- I never heard of this "named" drug before. Written by an employee as it certainly read like an ad for that particular antibiotic. How shameless.
