Merger Proposal
[edit]I hereby propose a merger with Near-equatorial orbit and Non-inclined orbit. Both articles describe the same topics and that their information adds up to each other. - This proposal has gotten no support in over 8 months, but given that the article Non-inclined orbit has not even a single source, and has been flagged for clean up for a long time, I'm going to go ahead and SUPPORT this merger proposal. Rationale includes that a non-inclined orbit is just a special case of the broader near-equatorial orbit.

Obvious assertion
[edit]“On Earth,” said this article, “[near-equatorial] orbits lie near the celestial equator, the great circle of the imaginary celestial sphere that is coplanar with the equator of Earth.” That assertion was flagged as dubious, but it's baffling why, for it is true ipso facto, and indeed I’ve broadened it, since every heavenly body with an equator has, by convention, a celestial equator. I post this remark here simply because of the demand that an editor "discuss" the matter. Mucketymuck (talk) 21:21, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
