Why is the POW Camp Missing?

Why isn't there a live link for the Ōfuna POW camp? It was a significant location, mentioned over and over in Captain Zamperini's book (with photo), during WWII, that must not be forgotten or left out of Wikipedia and routine academic searches on this subject matter.

The OFUNA listing ought to list all the names of everyone known to have been a POW there, as well as the Japanese names of the commander(s) and guards, and their ultimate fates.

Class A war criminal status likely wrong

I know that we have a source where Zamperini states that Watanabe was a Class A war criminal, but he was almost certainly mistaken."Class A" crimes were reserved for those who participated in a joint conspiracy to start and wage war, and were brought against those in the highest decision-making bodies. Watanabe was a sergeant, a guard at a POW camp, obviously not a position from which someone makes the decision to start and wage war. Zamperini was 81 years old when he said Watanabe was Class A, it was certainly a mistake of age, faulty memory, etc. I will be looking for independent verification, but if I find none, or find information to the contrary, I will be removing the "Class A" claim. The Legacy section was recently Boldly removed by an editor. I have Reverted that edit per WP:BRD. Let's now Discuss it here.

Can we stop arguing about whether this should be included?!?! This isn't irrelevant if literally the entire story revolves around this man. Who Was His Father?

Just watched the movie "Unbroken" and came here to learn more. During the movie there was some foreshadowning that Watanabi was not good enough to be an Officer and there was some shame that may be the motivation for his cruelty, and then at the end of the movie, Zamperini sees a picture of what appears to be Watanbi as a child with his military officer father. Then I read that Watanabi was considered to be a war criminal by MacArthur, was in hiding and then there was amnesty, and I wonder how difficult it would be to hide a war criminal in post-war Japan, and it occurred to me that perhaps his family was wealthy, had status, etc... due to his father, and THAT is why he was not "found" while hiding as a war criminal. It's a gut instinct, but if there is a backstory about how it was that Watanbi avoided prosecution, perhaps due to his father's rank and social position, that would improve the Article quite a bit, IMO.72.180.111.79 (talk) 04:26, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
