Earliest Origin of Name

[edit]

I found a reference to "Mountain Dew" that dates further back than the song in the "Origin" section. The clipping is on the Virginia Chronicle in the Winchester Gazette, August 3, 1822 Page 4, Column 1 "After the nuptial knot has been tied, and ample libations of the mountain dew distributed to a numerous party assembled on the occasion, two Hibernians (former lovers of the bride) being doubly inspired by the enlivened spirit, determined, in their frolicsome bumour, to disappoint the bridegroom, for one night at least, or the company of his dear Judy, and proceeded forthwith to lay violent hands upon her. https://virginiachronicle.com/?a=d&d=WG18220803.1.4 LewisMoten (talk) 15:48, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

This rather backs up my Long Held impression that "mountain dew" referred to moonshine. To some extent, this is based on old movies from the 30s (and a history of NASCAR). 70.57.28.13 (talk) 08:30, 13 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Under "promotions" -> Taco Bell's Mountain Dew Baja Blast: Change "This was to celebrate the drink's 20th anniversary..." to "This was to celebrate the drink's 10th anniversary..." It was the 10th anniversary not the 20th (came out in 2004). 67.66.140.26 (talk) 05:35, 25 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not done: Cited source says "20th anniversary". Charliehdb (talk) 05:49, 25 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Done: The previous source was talking about something different, fixed and switch the source to one that covered the discussed idea.Darkage7[Talk] 21:19, 23 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Tartrazine

[edit]

The fact that this additive is poisonous is not a myth or legend. The new HHS director is working to ban it's use in America. 2600:387:15:A31:0:0:0:6 (talk) 19:02, 23 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Is the current bottle image required to be under fair use here? Other packaged products (i.e. Altoids, Coca-Cola) use images with CC licenses.
