  • The article is new, long enough, and well-sourced. I see no neutrality or copyright concerns. I do, however, have problems with the hooks. ALT0 is not the exact quote (the word "scholarly" is missing) and I think the same fact can be presented in a much more interesting manner without the quote. I am thinking of just very plainly stating that Silberberg was the scholarly expert on modern girls. ALT2 is not as interesting as ALT0 could be with some tweaks. And there is another option: if Erotic Grotesque Nonsense is notable, as suggested by the red link, and if you are interested in the subject, there is a potential for a fantastic double hook. • @Surtsicna: I could rewrite ALT0, but since you brought up ALT3, that's an even great idea! The book meets GNG and should have an article. I'll work on it and get it done by tomorrow or day after; I'm free since my summer college session just ended. ミラP@Miraclepine 01:58, 17 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
ALT2: ... that Miriam Silverberg once wrote some erotic grotesque nonsense? Source: The book cover.
ALT3: ... that Miriam Silverberg once wrote erotic grotesque nonsense? Source: The book cover.
Now the article will require a separate review, as well as a QPQ (namely Template:Did you know nominations/Stephen King (conservationist). ミラP@Miraclepine 16:45, 17 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for another fresh, comprehensive article, Miraclepine! All relevant POVs seem to be covered. I see no copyright issues. I would avoid unconventional orthography unless we are aiming to keep this for 1 April. In this case, I do not think we need to obfuscate anything to draw the readers in. How about ALT4: ... that the academic career of the modern girl expert Miriam Silverberg ended in Erotic Grotesque Nonsense? Surtsicna (talk) 20:18, 17 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Surtsicna: Don't need that verbosity; how about:
ALT4b: ... that Miriam Silverberg's academic career ended in Erotic Grotesque Nonsense?

Almost forgot: since hooks need to be supported by a quote if the source is paywalled, note the quote is Due to her premature death, the book under review here, Erotic Grotesque Nonsense: The Mass Culture of Japanese Modern Time, is her last word on a field of scholarship that has proven to be productive and essential, demonstrated most recently in The Modern Girl Around the World.. ミラP@Miraclepine 20:30, 17 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
