Pronunciation

I removed "(pronounced moo-zeek rather than music)" until we can get a citation. I've heard many pronunciations, least of all "moo-zeek". Also, on the Mu page, it says it's pronounced "music", in contradiction to the above claim. I'll correct that as well, if no one objects.--Weakmassive 02:29, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

I have removed the "stub" message from this article, now that I have added the discography and several links. Anyone still think it belongs? Also: I am not totally satisfied with the layout of the discography -- is there a standard by which the discographies on Wikipedia should be designed? Reason?

I am going to remove the line "He makes his music with Reason 3.0." This is an impossibility.

There is no way this can be true, and I believe the author of this article inserted that information without a source and based solely on opinion. Reason 3.0 was released in mid-2005. Paradinas' latest album was released in 2003 so I find it quite curious that he was able to produce such an album on software that had not yet been written. Paradinas has been producing since the early 1990's before Reason 1.0 even existed.

Paradinas has given several interviews in which his equipment is duscussed. Among other things, he has a studio full of analog gear, synths, reels, etc. He NEVER mentions Reason.

Category name

Since Paradinas releases records under many aliases, I put all of his albums into Category:Mike Paradinas albums. Since most of his records were released under the name μ-ziq, I put the μ-ziq records into Category:μ-ziq albums and Category:Mike Paradinas albums. These is a technical problem with naming articles and categories starting with a lower-case letter. If you call it "μ-ziq", it looks like "M-ziq" on the page. To prevent this, I used a zero-width space, or ​ to start off the category name. That's why it looks so strange in the category list at the end of each album article: [[​Category:μ-ziq albums]]. Is Aberystwyth Marine really a compilation? Sounds to me that it's a previously 'lost' album:

None of the compilations listed are actually compilations, other than XTLP (which combines XTEP and Rediffusion ep). "Somerset Avenue Tracks (1992–1995)" is no more a compilation than Aphex Twin's "Selected Ambient Works 85-92" was. Likewise "Aberystwyth Marine", "RY30 Trax" and "Challenge Me Foolish" aren't compilations either. Goodbye and Goodbye Remixes

Taiwanese IP 36.236.161.99 (talk · contribs · IP contribs · WHOIS) reverted my edit, moving Goodbye (2022) and Goodbye Remixes (2022) from the "EPs" section to the "Singles" section (Special:Diff/1314369563).

• "Goodbye". Planet Mu. µ-Ziq says hello again with 'Goodbye'. The six track EP is the first in a series of releases by Mike Paradinas this year,
• "Goodbye Remixes". Planet Mu. µ-Ziq recruits the Mu special forces to remix his Goodbye EP.
• "Goodbye | µ-Ziq". Bandcamp. µ-Ziq says hello again with 'Goodbye'. The six track EP is the first in a series of releases by Mike Paradinas this year,
• "Goodbye Remixes | µ-Ziq". Bandcamp. µ-Ziq recruits the Mu special forces to remix his Goodbye EP.
• "Mike Paradinas Details New µ-Ziq EP, 'Goodbye'". The Quietus. Mike Paradinas has a new EP on the way under his long-running µ-Ziq alias.
• "Jlin, RP Boo And More Remix µ-Ziq On New EP". The Quietus. In addition to a new version of the title track by Paradinas himself, the EP features remixes from Jlin, RP Boo, DJ Manny and Xylitol.

According to these sources, including Mike Paradinas' record label (Planet Mu) and his Bandcamp page, as well as third-party reliable sources such as The Quietus and PopMatters, Goodbye and Goodbye Remixes are EPs, not singles. I think they should be moved from the "Singles" section to the "EPs" section.

Also, italics should be used only for titles of major works such as albums and EPs, per WP:MAJORWORK. Titles of minor works such as singles should be enclosed in double quotation marks, per WP:MINORWORK. フランベ (talk) 13:47, 16 October 2025 (UTC)

Every release listed under singles is literally an EP. It's already undisputed. Nobody is going to argue against this. They are ALL EPs. The reason there is is a Singles section at all is because those EPs are fronted by a single being promoted, and Goodbye the song is indisputably a single meant to promote Magic Pony Ride. Also in the UK, a single is very often accompanied by an R release, or remix release, and Goodbye / Goodbye Remixes fits this mold, as they are ZIQ443 and ZIQ443R.

• "Instagram". Instagram. My first 'proper' µ-Ziq single for ages is out today. "Goodbye" is the lead track from the 6-track EP out April 1st. It's followed in June by a new album "Magic Pony Ride". Stream now in all the usual places or preorder on bandcamp etc...
• "Mike Paradinas Reinterprets His Goodbye EP As Goodbye Remixes". PopMatters. His Goodbye EP was basically a beefed-up single for a song from his forthcoming album Magic Pony Ride.
• "Goodbye - µ-Ziq". AllMusic. As a release, Goodbye clearly feels like a single plus B-sides and remixes

Did you not know an EP can also be a single? An EP can also be a mini-album (his Hello release)? An EP can also be a compilation (his Further Electronix Trax release)? Do you not understand how blurry these lines are? Do you not understand that lobbing ALL of these things into EPs just inflates the list and helps no one differentiate them?

If you feel slighted by the revert for some reason, then move all 5 of the releases under Singles and put them under EPs. Who really cares anymore. This debate about what is an EP, what is a single, what is a compilation, what is a studio album, what is an archival album, etc etc will never be settled. There's always some point of contention.
